How I Work
From the first conversation to launch day and beyond. Here’s what to expect, and where you come in.
The steps
A free intro call
We start with a 30-minute conversation, on the phone or online. Why a new site, and why now? What would make it a success a year from today? Who needs to use it, as specifically as you can say? No preparation needed, and no obligation.
Your part: If you’d like a head start, look over the project checklist and send links to a few sites you like.
A plan we agree on
Next we map the project around three questions: what the site needs to say, what it needs to do, and how it should feel. We also sort out your domain name, whether you already own one or we find one together. You get a clear plan, a flat price for the whole project, and a simple written agreement: half to start, and half when we launch. No surprises later.
Your part: Tell me about deadlines, budget limits, who makes the final call, and your domain if you have one.
Your content
Words and photos are what make a site yours, so they come first. I’ll help you organize them so it’s clear where everything lives, now and as you grow, and we plan for other languages from the start. I begin building once your final content is ready, so the design fits what you really have to say.
Your part: Gather your final text, photos, and logo. The checklist lists everything I’ll need.
Design and build
With your content in hand, I build your site on a private preview link only you can see. Share it with your team, click around, and tell me what’s working and what isn’t. We go back and forth until it feels right.
Your part: Gather feedback from your team and send it in one place, so nothing gets lost.
Review and training
Before launch, your team tests everything: forms, menus, phones, the works. Then I walk you through updating the site yourself in a training session, in English or Spanish, and you can record it to share later.
Your part: Ask everyone who will update the site to join the training.
Launch day
We go live together. I connect your domain, check every page, set up backups and monitoring, and make sure search engines can find you. Then you get to share it with the world.
Your first year of care
Your first year of hosting, updates, backups, fixes, and questions is included. After that, you choose: take the site on your own, or stay with me on a care plan.
Your part: Enjoy your new site, and call me when you need me.
