Project Checklist

I start building once your content is ready. Use this list to gather everything your new site needs.

Don’t have it all yet? That’s normal. Bring what you have to our intro call and we’ll work through the rest together.

Branding

  • Your logo, in the best quality you have (SVG or a large PNG is ideal)
  • Your colors: primary, secondary, and any others, with hex codes if you have them
  • Fonts (optional): a clean, easy-to-read font for body text (sans-serif fonts are usually the most accessible) and one for titles. Two font families is usually plenty.

Images

  • High-quality, horizontal (landscape) photos you’d like to use
  • No photos yet? Free sites like Unsplash are a good place to start
  • Permission to use every image, and consent from anyone pictured
  • When you can, photos of your team and the real people you serve
  • File names that say where each image goes (for example, home-banner.jpg)

Page content

  • Home page text, including your main call to action: a clear next step like “Book an appointment” or “Join our newsletter,” never “Click here”
  • About page text
  • Contact page text, and how you’d like people to reach you: email, phone, address, or a form
  • Text for any other pages
  • A note on each page about which images or graphics go there

Extras, if you have them

  • Information about your products or services
  • Testimonials
  • Videos, uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo, with the links and the page each one goes on
  • Which languages you need, and how you’d like them translated: automatically (quick, any number of languages, not always 100% accurate) or translations you send me page by page (most accurate)

The details

  • Two or three websites you like, ideally in your field, and what you like about each one
  • Your domain name, and who it’s registered with (your domain registrar), if you know
  • Logins for your current website and hosting, if you have them
  • Where form messages should go, and your social media links
  • Tools you already use: newsletter, donations, events, booking, or a store
  • Your timeline, and any dates the site needs to be ready for
  • Anything else I should know: special needs or instructions
