The short version

• I don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
• This site has no ads, and visitors don’t need an account.
• If you use the contact form, I use what you send to reply and to work with you.
• I use Google Analytics to see how the site is used.

Who I am

This site, alexrodz.com, belongs to Alex Rodriguez, a web developer in North Carolina. This policy covers this site only, not the sites I build for clients.

When you contact me

The contact form asks for your name, your email, a topic, and your message. You can also add your organization and your current website. I use this to reply to you and to talk about your project.

Your message is emailed to my Gmail account, which Google runs, and a private copy is saved in this site’s admin area, which isn’t public. I keep messages as long as I need them to reply or for our work together, and I’ll delete them sooner if you ask.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics, through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to see which pages get visited, how people find the site, what kind of device they use, and their general location. It uses cookies, and Google processes this data. I use it to improve the site, not to identify you.

To opt out, you can use Google’s opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser. You can read Google’s privacy policy for more.

Other cookies

Cloudflare, which helps protect this site, sets a short-lived security cookie to help block bots. You can block cookies in your browser, and the site should still work.

Services this site relies on

WP Engine hosts this site and Cloudflare helps protect it. They receive standard technical information, such as your IP address, your browser, and the pages you request, and may keep it in their logs. Your browser also loads this site’s fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address too.

Links to other sites

This site links to sites I’ve built and to other sites I don’t control. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this one.

Your choices

You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete the information you’ve sent me by writing through the contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under local law.

Children

This site is meant for adults looking for web work. It isn’t aimed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date below.
